PRO-6 intensifies police visibility to deter crimes

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has intensified police presence on the streets to deter crimes and for a faster crises response.

This is in response to the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for a more proactive, intensified, and strategic police visibility, according to PRO-6 spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis.

“Our PRO-6 director, Brigadier General Jack Wanky, has ordered all units to deploy all available personnel so that we can quickly response in case of incidents,” Solis said.

President Marcos earlier ordered the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) under Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla and the Philippine National Police (PNP) led by its chief, General Rommel Francisco Marbil, to ensure that police are closer to the people.

Dapat laging may nakikita na pulis na naglalakad. Kasi pagtagal ng panahon, nakikilala mo na ‘yun,” President Marcos said.

The President said he wanted the police to respond more quickly, noting the police officers must be at the scene in less than five minutes.

The President also noted that several current emergency numbers could add to confusion, so the government would implement a single crisis hotline for emergency hotlines during the crisis.

“We are doing our best that our men could be seen on streets and can response in less than five minutes,” said Solis./PN
