ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has joined forces with the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to investigate the recent robbery at Iloilo Supermart in Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro district, where robbers stole P1.3 million in cash.
Police Colonel Giovanni Musico, head of PRO-6’s intelligence division, said his team is coordinating closely with the ICPO investigators to identify the culprits.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in resolving this case,” Musico told Panay News.
Major Eduardo Siacon, chief of the Iloilo City Police Station 9 (ICPS 9), noted similarities between this robbery and the modus operandi of the infamous Termite Gang, known for their strategic break-ins by digging trenches.
The initial investigation by ICPS 9 revealed that the incident occurred between midnight and 2 a.m. on August 27.
“The execution of this crime bears resemblances to previous incidents attributed to the Termite Gang. However, we are yet to confirm their involvement,” Siacon explained.
He added that there are indications the robbers had surveilled the supermarket prior to the break-in, as evidenced by the precise nature of their entry./PN
