PRO-6 nabs 82 violators of 2025 poll gun ban

ILOILO City – A total of 82 persons were arrested for violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban across Panay Island.

From January 12 to June 11, authorities also confiscated 82 assorted firearms, four gun replicas and one explosive.

Data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed that the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (PPO) recorded the highest number of arrests at 34, followed by Capiz PPO with 19, and Antique PPO and Iloilo City Police Office with eight each.

Aklan PPO, Guimaras PPO, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 contributed four arrests each.

PRO-6 spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis said all arrested persons were charged in court.

“We acknowledged the efforts of our police personnel for arresting those who violated the gun ban and for maintaining peace and order during elections,” Solis added./PN
