ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is recruiting 800 new policemen – rank of Police Officer 1 – this year.
Those interested may apply online via the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Registration Application System, according to PRO-6 spokesperson Superintendent Joem Malong. Applicants can submit their personal data sheets through it.
“We’re going online so that the national headquarters has control and can monitor the recruitment system,” said Malong.
She, however, stressed applicants still need to submit hard copies of their applications.
This is the first recruitment for the PNP’s regular force this year.
“There was a delay in the regular recruitment. The hiring of 14,000 new Special Action Force personnel was prioritized,” said Malong.
The following are the minimum qualifications an applicant must meet:
* must be a citizen of the Philippines
* of good moral character
* height: at least 1.62 meters; weight: within the standard corresponding to age
* a graduate of a baccalaureate degree with corresponding eligibility
* between 21 to 30 years old
* must not have been dishonorably discharged from military employment or dismissed for a cause from any civilian position in the government
* must not been convicted by final judgement of an offense / crime involving moral turpitude
* must pass the psychiatric / psychological, drug and physical tests
Documents required for submission are the following:
* Philippine Statistics Authority-certified birth certificate
* transcript of records and diploma (duly authenticated by the school registrar)
* certificate of eligibility (duly authenticated by the issuing office)
* photocopy of two valid identification cards
The basic salary of a Police Officer 1 is now P29,668 a month./PN
