ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) seized P13 million worth of shabu and arrested 237 most wanted persons across Western Visayas in a weeklong operation (Feb. 5 to 11) dubbed “Birada Semana”.
Also nabbed were 106 drug suspects from 75 anti-drug operations.
Of the arrested wanted persons, 194 belonged to the top 10 most wanted list in their areas while 43 were accused of lesser offenses.
PRO-6 record further showed that 40 persons were arrested for possessing unlicensed firearms in 31 operations.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 171 suspects were arrested in 46 operations.
PRO-6 director Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor lauded his men for the successful operations.
“I really appreciate our men for performing better to maintain peace and order in our area,” Villaflor said./PN
