PRO-6 nets P2.5-M ‘shabu’, nabs 8 suspects in 24-hour ops

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested eight drug suspects and seized an estimated P2.5 million worth of illegal drugs in a single day of synchronized operations across Western Visayas.

Records from PRO-6 revealed that eight anti-drug operations conducted from the morning of June 27 to June 28 led to the confiscation of approximately 374 grams of suspected shabu.

Among the arrested suspects, four were classified by authorities as high-value targets while the other four were identified as street-level individuals.

The biggest haul of the 24-hour sweep was recorded in Iloilo City at around 10:30 p.m. on June 27.

Operatives launched a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dulunan, Arevalo district, resulting in the arrest of alias “Nel,” 28. The suspect yielded around 225 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P1.5 million.

Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño, PRO-6 acting director, lauded the operating units, stating that the latest wave of accomplishments underscores the relentless dedication of Western Visayas police elements.

“The arrest of these drug personalities and the seizure of more than P2.5 million worth of suspected shabu demonstrated our commitment to deliver Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” Tuaño said. “We will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations to disrupt the illegal drug trade, arrest those responsible, and keep our communities safe.”

All eight suspects are currently in police custody and face criminal charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
