ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized P8.8 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 43 drugs suspects in a weeklong operation across the region.
From April 20 to 26, a total of 1,292 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P8,785,600 and five grams of marijuana valued at P600 were confiscated.
Of the 43 arrested, seven were tagged as high-value targets and 35 were street-level offenders.
One of the biggest seizures was recorded in Arevalo, Iloilo City on April 23. High-value targets aliases “Mico” and “Ryan” yielded approximately 390 grams valued at around P2.6 million.
The marijuana, meanwhile, was seized by operatives of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, PRO-6 director, commended the dedication and tireless efforts of the operatives involved in the operations.
He emphasized the importance of such operations in maintaining public safety, upholding the rule of law, and eradicating the scourge of illegal drugs from the region./PN
