PRO-6 seizes P200-M shabu, marijuana in 8 months

ILOILO City — From January to August of this year, 30,000 grams of shabu and 3,900 grams of marijuana confiscated across Western Visayas reached a combined value of P200 million, data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed.

A total of 1,365 drug personalities were also arrested.

Confiscations in Negros Occidental had the biggest value at P70 million, followed by those of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) at P62 million, and then those from Bacolod City at P47 million.

Seizures from other areas had the following values:

* Iloilo City – P14 million

* Iloilo province – P8 million

* Capiz – P5 million

* Guimaras – P488,000

* Antique – P56,000

* Aklan – P31,500.

PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, gave credit to all police units and their commanders.

Two of the most recent drug trafficking suspects to be arrested were sisters. Angie Dumdumaya, 30, and sister Angielyn, 25, fell in an Aug. 27 entrapment in Barangay Lantad, Silay City, Negros Occidental. Cops seized P13.7 million worth of shabu weighing some two kilos./PN
