ILOILO City – A total of P43.3 million worth of shabu and marijuana were confiscated during the various anti-illegal drug operations of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) in May this year.
PRO-6 data showed that around 6,022 grams of shabu valued at approximately P40,900,000 and 20 kilos of marijuana with an estimated value of P2,400,000 were seized.
This figure represents an increase of approximately P7.4 million compared to the P35,900,000 worth of drug recoveries across the region in April 2024, according to PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky.
One notable operation was carried out by the San Carlos Component City Police Station on May 14.
Police officers uprooted 132 fully grown marijuana plants in Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. They also arrested aliases “Jo” and “Lito,” who were caught in the act cultivating the said plants./PN
