PRO-NIR needs 279 new police officers for 2026 recruitment

BACOLOD City — The Philippine National Police has allocated 279 recruitment slots for the Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) as part of efforts to strengthen police manpower and improve public safety services across the region.

Of the total allocation, 111 slots are under the regular recruitment program, while 168 positions are designated for attrition recruitment, which aims to replace personnel who have left the service due to retirement, resignation, or other causes.

Based on the approved recruitment timeline of the PNP, the acceptance of applications for the regular quota will run from March 20 to March 30, 2026, to be facilitated by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit–NIR (RRSU-NIR). During this period, qualified applicants may submit their documentary requirements for initial evaluation and processing.

For the attrition recruitment, the distribution of quotas to provincial directors, city directors, and chiefs of police will take place from March 20 to March 23, followed by the convening of the Recruitment Screening Committee on March 24.

From March 25 to March 27, police offices will post recruitment notices in city and municipal halls and other public places to inform residents about the available opportunities.

The activation of the Ad Hoc Screening Body by local chief executives is scheduled on March 30, a measure aimed at ensuring transparency and compliance with the recruitment process.

Meanwhile, the acceptance of applications for the attrition quota will run from March 31 to April 23, 2026.

Applicants may submit their documents through chiefs of police, city police stations, or provincial police offices, where they will undergo screening and evaluation by the designated Ad Hoc Screening Body.

The recruitment drive reflects the PNP’s continuing effort to strengthen its ranks by attracting competent, service-oriented, and community-focused individuals to join the police force.

PRO-NIR encouraged aspiring applicants to begin preparing their documents and ensure they meet the qualifications under the PNP recruitment system, emphasizing that the selection process will remain transparent, merit-based, and open to all qualified candidates.

Those interested in applying or seeking further details may coordinate with the RRSU-NIR, which oversees recruitment and selection activities in the region./PN
