THE PHILIPPINE Statistics Authority (PSA) officially launched on Wednesday, February 25, the PSA E-Certificate Service, a fully digital, end-to-end solution for the issuance of civil registry documents.
The launch, held at the PSA office in East Avenue, Quezon City, is part of the PSA’s digital transformation efforts and in the government’s broader vision for a Digital Philippines.
National Statistician Dennis Mapa said the PSA E-Certificate Service introduces features that enhance usability, convenience and security.
“This service utilizes an advanced cryptographic safeguard. This will ensure that the issued civil registry document is impossible to forge or tamper with,” he said.
As an additional layer of protection, Mapa said the PSA also integrated the QR-based verification in every E-certificate.
“This feature provides institutions with greater assurance that the document is authentic, allowing real-time validation of the certificate’s details. The seamless verification process minimizes the risks of fraud, strengthens institutional trust, and delivers confidence in every transaction,” Mapa said.
Mapa assured the public that issued certificates are authentic and carry the full legal weight of a traditionally issued document.
According to Mapa, the PSA E-certificate service is also a win for the environment as it minimizes physical courier transport, which means fewer resources consumed, less waste generated, and a more sustainable approach to public service.
He said educational institutions can also use the service to streamline their enrollment processes while companies, particularly human resources (HR) units, can also be a tool for faster verification of identity.
