MOTORISTS will have to pay more for petroleum products this week, as fuel retailers on Monday, October 6, announced another round of hikes to mark the seventh straight week of increases for both diesel and kerosene.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.20, diesel by P0.80, and kerosene by P0.20.
Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. today, October 7, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will increase prices at 4:01 p.m. the same day
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week as of this writing.
The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected mixed movements this week, citing the United States’ imposition of new sanctions on Iran, along with concerns over the global supply glut as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners are set to increase crude production levels.
Firms last week rolled back prices per liter of gasoline by P0.20, while hiking those of gasoline and kerosene by P0.90 each.
This brought year-to-date adjustments to a total net increase of P14.70 per liter for gasoline, P17.05 per liter for diesel, and P5.45 per liter for kerosene as of September 30, 2025. (GMA Integrated News)
