RABIYA Mateo’s ex-boyfriend Neil Salvacion just opened up about a lot of things in his life, including his heartbreak with the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines.
In his audition video for Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), the 27-year-old from Iloilo talked about his life as a medical frontliner and how he chose to forego an overseas opportunity to help the country. He spoke about battling two “crowns”: coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and a crown from a competition.
“Ako po ay isang COVID nurse na dapat mag-aabroad pero mas piniling manilbihan dito sa bansa bilang isang frontliner. Sa araw-araw na ginawa ng Diyos, ang buhay ko po ay ospital-bahay,” he said.
According to Salvacion, he wanted to share these painful experiences should he be chosen to be part of the show. He went on to compare the challenges of isolating himself physically from loved ones to being left by someone he loves for “the crown.”
“Minsan ay masisilayan mo ang mga huling hininga ng mga pasyente. Nakakalungkot man na ma-isolate ng ilang buwan, mas nakakalungkot pala na maiwan ka ng taong mahal mo dahil sa pangarap nitong korona,” he shared.
Neil and Rabiya were together for six years. Neil was Rabiya’s first boyfriend.
In May 2021, netizens noticed that Neil deleted Rabiya’s photos on his Instagram (IG) feed, sparking rumors that the two had broken up. Rabiya, later on, said in an interview that she and Neil were in a “complicated situation” but that they remain friends.
In June 2021, Neil confirmed his breakup with Rabiya on IG Stories.(Cosmopolitan)
