MANILA – Dwight Ramos delivered his best game of the season as Levanga Hokkaido scored a 77-69 victory over Yokohama B-Corsairs in the 2024 Japan B.League Division 2 on Sunday at the Hokkai Kita-yale.
Ramos, who is on his second game back from an injury, finished with a season-high of 19 points, including five three-point conversions, to go with three rebounds, three assists, and a steal for Hokkaido.
Shuto Terazono delivered 16 markers and five rebounds off the bench, while Terry Allen and Ryan Kriener ended with 15 and 12 points, respectively, for Hokkaido, which improved to a 4-7 win-loss record.
“We didn’t start the game the way we wanted, we were passive and had poor communication, which made us loose on both offense and defense, but we were patient and kept our concentration,” Hokkaido head coach Ryutaro Onodera said.
Damien Inglis led Yokohama with 18 points, Kiefer Ravena and Gary Clark added 11 markers apiece, while Hiroki Matsuzaki contributed 10 points as they dropped to a 5-6 mark.
Levanga also prevailed over Yokohama on Saturday evening, 75-66, with Ramos contributing nine points and two assists in almost 14 minutes of action and Kriener tallying 30 points.
Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Osaka Evessa (6-5), on the other hand, suffered a 95-84 defeat to Ryukyu Golden Kings (8-3) over at the Ookini Arena Maishima.
The former National University Bulldogs standout finished with a team-high of 18 points to go with three rebounds and two assists but was not enough for Osaka to defeat Ryukyu.
Kai Sotto tallied six points and seven rebounds as Koshigaya Alphas (1-10) faltered to Sunrockers Shibuya (7-4), 82-59, while Matthew Wright tallied 15 points as Kawasaki Brave Thunders (2-8) bowed to Saga Ballooners (5-5), 89-67.
In Division 2 action, Geo Chiu contributed six points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and one assist but Ehime Orange Vikings failed to defeat Altiri Chiba, 94-85./PN
