KALIBO, Aklan – The local government of Libacao, Aklan offered a P50,000 reward for any information that would lead to the immediate arrest of four suspects in the killing of a micro lending collector.

On July 26, the 24-year old John Rey Madera was shot to death while driving a motorcycle in Sitio Balisong, Barangay Pampango, Libacao. Madera died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The assailants fled after the incident and took the victim’s cash and cellphone.

Police Captain Willian Aguirre said they were able to identify two of the suspects.

A manhunt operation was conducted against them, Aguirre added.

Meanwhile, town mayor Charito Navarosa urged the residents to remain alert rather than complacent after the deadly shooting.

Kung saan ang tahimik, huwag tayong kumpyansiya. They will take advantage. First time itong nangyari sa Libacao. Marami ditong pumapasok na lending collectors ngunit wala namang nangyari sa kanila,” Navarosa said.

He vowed to give justice for the slain lending collector.

Simpatiya sa pamilya at sa employer ni Madera. May nakalaang reward sa mga impormasyon at tutulong sa pag-imbestiga sa kaso,” said Navarosa. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN).
