ANTIQUE – A man was discovered dead in the middle of a rice field in Barangay Piape 3, Hamtic, Antique, at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.
The individual was identified as Roger Salmorin, a 40-year-old resident of the aforementioned barangay.
According to Police Corporal Jason Pallon, investigator at the Hamtic police station, cops responded to a call from Kagawad John Rey Sucado about a man found lying in the middle of a rice field.
The cause of death has yet to be determined by the Hamtic police, pending the results of the post-mortem examination.
The man’s sibling said Salmorin was known to consume alcohol and lived alone.
He was last seen alive on April 5, around 5 a.m., partaking in festivities.
Salmorin’s body has been transferred to a funeral home.
