ILOILO City – Around 1:05 a.m. on June 6, two gunmen onboard a motorcycle shot a woman on corner Ledesma-Valeria streets, Barangay Ed Ganzon, City Proper.
Apple Jane Nacionales, 28, of Granada Street, Barangay Bagumbayan Poblacion, Guimbal, Iloilo died while being rushed to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro district.
Believed to be a freelance sex worker, Nacionales died of a gunshot wound on her left eye.
According to Police Station 1, the victim was attacked while talking to friend Aladin Valdeviezo.
The gunmen left immediately.
Responding cops recovered from the crime scene a spent bullet shell of a .45 gunman.
Police Captain Shella Mae Sangrines, chief of Police Station 1, said one angle probers were pursuing was illegal drugs.
In 2015 Nsacionales was arrested for allegedly visiting a drug den.
“Nadakpan ini sia last 2015 and napriso na sia pero nakagwa man. So, nagbalik naman sia dira obra as freelance worker. Isa ina sa ginatan-aw ta nga possibility kay sa personal gin-check naton waay na sia iban nga record, like nami man ang ugali ni Apple,” said Sangrines./PN
