BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Traffic Authority (BTAO) released yesterday its final traffic plan for All Saints’ Day (November 1) and All Souls’ Day (November 2).
A temporary closure of some roads near Burgos Cemetery (Bacolod North Public Cemetery) will begin today, November 1.
BTAO announced the total closure of the roads from the corner of Burgos and Ylac streets (in front of Police Station 4) to Burgos and Lopez Jaena Streets.
Following this, all vehicles including public utility jeeps (PUJs) coming from the east should turn right onto Ylac Street, then turn left onto B.S. Aquino Drive. They may also turn left onto Ilang-Ilang Stree or Maso Street. After here, they should continue left onto L.N. Augustine Drive until Hilado Street and proceed to their destination.
For PUJs traveling from downtown to the east, those from Burgos Street or Galo Street should turn left onto Lopez Jaena Street, then turn right onto L.N. Augustine Drive and proceed to their destination.
Additionally, BTAO will install at least five barricades bearing “No Entry” signs along Burgos and Lopez Jaena streets and another five barricades along Ylac and Burgos streets.
Parking, meanwhile, is prohibited on both sides of Lopez Jaena Street.
To further ensure smooth traffic flow, around 18 traffic enforcers per shift will be deployed within the perimeter of Burgos Cemetery and the rerouting area.
For the Sacred Heart Cemetery and Barangay Punta Taytay, all vehicles from south or Araneta Street will turn left at Bangga Punta Taytay then turn right onto Earl Caroll Street and left onto Villarosa Street to reach the cemetery.
Vehicles exiting the cemetery will turn right towards Barangay Punta Taytay and continue to their destination.
Also, parking is not allowed on the north side of Villarosa Street.
BTAO added that for other cemeteries including Rolling Hills Cemetery and Rose Lawns Memorial Park, no parking zones will be implemented.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office reminded the public that gambling, deadly weapons and alcoholic drinks are prohibited inside the cemeteries./PN
