Robbery, drug suspects fall in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and a robbery hold-up suspect in separate operations here, underscoring the police force’s intensified campaign against street crimes and illegal drugs.

At around 2:11 a.m. on January 27, officers of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a suspect identified as alias “Boyboy” or “Bor,” 26, during a buy-bust operation at Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1.

Recovered from the suspect were approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P544,000. The operation was led by Lt. Richard O. Legada, officer-in-charge of the CDEU.

The suspect was informed of his alleged violations of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is currently in the custody of Police Station 2.

Meanwhile, a robbery hold-up suspect was arrested following a hot pursuit operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 8 on the evening of January 26.

The incident occurred at around 8:20 p.m. at Purok Kapalaran, JR Torres Subdivision, Barangay Singcang Airport.

The 25-year-old alias “Warlito,” single, and a resident of Barangay Tangub, was apprehended after authorities recovered the stolen items and a motorcycle believed to have been used as the getaway vehicle. He is currently under the custody of Police Station 8 for the filing of appropriate charges.
