BACOLOD City – A robbery suspect evaded arrest by climbing onto trusses of a bridge in Barangay Caliban, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Sunday, May 14.

Murcia police identified the suspect as Fernando Camporaso Jr., a resident of the aforementioned place.

Police investigation revealed that at around 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, Camporaso allegedly carted away P7,800 in cash from Jenelyn Suico, 35, and a collector of RAJU lending company.

Suico was riding a motorcycle driven by his co-worker Glenn Ortaniza, 34, when they were stopped by the suspect and threatened with a fishing bow or baslay, police said.

The suspect fled thereafter, but to evade arrest he climbed onto trusses of the Caliban bridge. He surrendered and went down at around 12:15 p.m. following a negotiation with the personnel of the Murcia police station and the town’s Bureau of Fire and Protection.
