MANILA – Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque Jr. on Tuesday said he is leaving his decision to run for Senate to God.
“Because only God can tell us what will happen to our lives,” Roque told a news conference in Cavite.
Roque ranked within 25th to 33rd among possible contenders in the 2019 senatorial race, based on the survey of Pulse Asia from June 15 to 21.
Only 7.9 percent of the 1,800 respondents said they would vote for the presidential spokesman if the elections were held today.
In a previous Pulse Asia survey, conducted from March 23 and 28, Roque ranked within 27th to 36th, with a preferential rating of 8.7 percent.
Roque is a human rights lawyer and a former Kabayan party-list representative./PN
