RORO now serves Cadiz-Bantayan route

BACOLOD City – A roll-on roll-off (RORO) cargo vessel will now serve the Cadiz-Bantayan route and vice versa starting Feb. 13.

Landing Craft Tank (LCT) Valentina Dos, will leave Cadiz City Commercial Port in Negros Occidental to Sta. Fe Port in Bantayan Island, Cebu province daily.

Scheduled trips daily will be at 7 a.m. from Cadiz to Bantayan and will leave Bantayan to Cadiz City at 3 p.m.

Travel time is approximately four hours.

This cargo vessel is designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, and trailers.

Milky Benedicto, the vessel’s proprietor, said the cargo rates start at P3,000 for the cars/SUV; P6,000 for the canter; and P8,000 for the 10-Wheeler trucks.

The driver’s fare is already included in the rate but the extra person will be charged P280, according to a release from the Cadiz City Information Office.

The cargo vessel may start to accommodate regular passengers (without cars) by March this year. (PIA/PN)
