BACOLOD City – A passenger roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel was forced to return to port after encountering strong waves at the Tañon Strait off the coast of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Captain Ludovico Librilla, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Negros Occidental station commander, said M/V Lite Ferry 2 of Lite Shipping Corp. left the Port of San Carlos City around 11:20 a.m. yesterday.
It was bound for Toledo City, Cebu.
Shortly after departure, the vessel encountered strong waves in the Tañon Strait, the body of water separating the islands of Negros and Cebu.
The vessel’s captain elected to return for safety reasons, Librilla said.
It safely docked at San Carlos City around 1 p.m. No one was hurt in the incident./PN
