Rotary Club organizes first job fair in Iloilo

THE Rotary Club of Iloilo is organizing its very first job fair.

The event will start on 8:00 a.m. and will end at 5:00 p.m. on Sept.17, 2019 at the GT Town Center in Pavia.

Jobseekers who wish to join the fair can pre-register either at the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at the Provincial Capitol or at Rotary Club Office located at the 2nd Floor of Mary Mart Mall.

According to Rotary Iloilo’s Doctor Gerald Birondo, 66 companies and more than 1,300 companies are expected to be available at this job fair. Furthermore, the fair will also feature numerous help desks, including the NBI, BIR, Philhealth, TESDA and various others. TESDA will also offer skills registration desk for those who are interested in developing their skills.

Birondo explained that the Rotary Club was motivated in helping Iloilo’s economically disadvantaged youths, which happens to be one of their key “areas of focus.”

“So ang objective gid ya sang Rotary is to serve,” Birondo said. “We are here as a volunteer. We are doing our best to help our fellow men, especially ang mga needy gid. So actually, we have six areas of focus sa Rotary. We have the health; may ara sa education, sa water sanitation, peace and order, maternal and sa economic. That’s why ang Rotary nag plan to have a job fair para ma address ang one of the areas of focus of Rotary – ang economic development.”/PN
