Roxas City buy-bust nets P130-K ‘shabu’

ROXAS City – Three sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P130,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cagay.

The 30-year-old Nelvin Obafial and 28-year-old Levi Yandoc and yielded the suspected illegal drugs, a police report showed.

The suspects – all residents of the village – were nabbed after they sold suspected shabu to an undercover cop for P1,000 around 3 p.m. on May 29, it added.

“Yandoc was already arrested in the past because of the same offense but he entered a plea bargaining agreement,” Roxas City police station spokesperson Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles said.

Village captain Arthur Aragon, for his part, said Obafial was an active member of their Barangay Peace Action Team (BPAT).

 “Indi maayo nga gina gamit nya ang (BPAT)I.D. nya para mag libot-libot. Ang malain pa kay indi lang sya naga gamit, naga duso pa gali sya sang shabu,” he added.

Obafial and Yandoc were detained and charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
