RUFA Mae Quinto has returned to the Philippines from the United States, where she and her daughter Athena held a memorial service for the actress’ late husband, Trevor Magallanes.
The actress-comedian announced that she is back to work, through her Instagram page last Saturday, Aug. 30.
“The show must go go go on! Andito na kami ng Pilinas para mag work,” she said. (We’re already here in the Philippines to work.)
“Kasama at naiuwi ko na din asawa at anak ko,” she added, apparently referring to Magallanes’ remains. (I came home with my husband and daughter.)
Quinto then admitted that even after a month has passed, she is still in shock over Magallanes’ death.
“Speechless pa din ako sa shock sa naganap sa buhay namin,” she stated. (I’m still speechless and in shock over what recently happened in our lives.)
But being the comedian that she is, Quinto tried to cope using humor as she concluded her statement, “Wala ako masabi kaya kakanta na lang ako (I have nothing to say so I’ll just sing). I dedicate this song to myself. I hope I like it!”
Quinto confirmed Magallanes’ demise to the public last July 31, although no cause of death wasimmediately made public.
Magallanes’ last known social media post was in May this year when he posted a short clip of his visit to the wind turbines of Oklahoma. In his video, the US-based businessman could be seen inside his black sedan sporting a longish haircut. (Anne Pasajol © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
