RUFFA Gutierrez stressed that her mom Annabelle Rama is alive and well after the latter became a subject of a recent death hoax.
Gutierrez issued a statement through her Facebook page on Monday, Oct. 19, while calling on content creators to use their platforms responsibly.
“To all content creators, I sincerely hope we can use our platforms to spread truth, kindness, and positivity rather than misinformation and hate,” the actress said. “Spreading false stories and damaging someone’s reputation for the sake of views and engagement is never right.”
“Walang katotohanan ang mga kumakalat na balita. MY MOM IS ALIVE & KICKING!” she noted.
Gutierrez further urged them to be discerning with their social media posts, underscoring that “behind every headline are real people and families who can be deeply affected.”
“Let us choose truth over rumors, kindness over cruelty, and integrity over attention. A little more respect and compassion can go a long way,” she added.
Earlier this year, Rama’s husband, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez, also to took to social media to dismiss false reports of his death.
“I’m still alive and kicking. Hindi pa ako namamatay. Binigyan pa ako ng Panginoon ng ilang taon,” he said at the time. (Anne Pasajol © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
