SAN ANTONIO Spurs continued their mastery of the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 117-102 victory in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Christmas Day (Friday in the Philippines) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
De’Aaron Fox scored 29 points while Victor Wembanyama posted a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, which scored their third win over the defending NBA champions in the past two weeks.
Stephon Castle added 19 points and seven assists, Harrison Barnes tallied 15 points including three outside conversions, while Filipino-American rookie Dylan Harper contributed 12 markers for the Spurs, now with a 23-7 record.
Oklahoma City jumped out to an early advantage after making its first seven field goals to lead 18-12, but Fox sparked San Antonio’s response as they surged to a 69-60 halftime lead.
San Antonio pulled away in the third quarter, stretching the margin to 85-68 midway through the period. A late dunk by Harper capped a strong quarter for the Spurs, who led 95-79 entering the fourth.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 22 points for the Thunder but struggled from the floor, shooting 7-of-19. Isaiah Hartenstein added 13 markers, Jalen Williams and Alex Caruso had 12 each, and Chet Holmgren contributed 10 points.
Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson scored 34 points, Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson had 25 and New York Knicks came from 17 down in the fourth quarter to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 126-124.
Brunson made the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:05 remaining, after he, Tyler Kolek and Clarkson all hit from behind the arc in a 13-2 run that cut Cleveland’s 12-point lead to 111-110.
Donovan Mitchell had 34 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Darius Garland added a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists, but the Cavaliers blew their chance at a third straight win.
In other Christmas Day games, Golden State Warriors prevailed over Dallas Mavericks, 126-116, while Houston Rockets cruised to a 119-96 rout over Los Angeles Lakers./PN
