
ANTIQUE –San Jose de Buenavista town will revive its Tiringbanay Festival.
Tiringbanay, which means “coming together”, is in honor of the town’s patron, St. Joseph the Worker.
Mayor Elmer Untaran said this year’s theme, “Hugyaw kag Pagdayaw” (celebrating and praising), is for the successes of the municipality in local governance and economic development, as well as to acknowledge the persistence and resilience of San Josenhons.
Tiringbanay is also an opportunity for the people of Antique to come together and enjoy each other’s company, added Untaran.
Pre-festival activities began last week, April 15.
Below is the schedule of events:
* April 15 to May 1 – Fiesta sa Banwa Foodfest
* April 15 to May 1 – Tiringbanay Basketball Tournaments, 1st TODA Basketball Tournament, and Liga ng mga Barangay Basketball Tournament
* April 21 to 22 – 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
* April 23 – Lin-ay kang San Jose de Buenavista and Community Outreach
* April 25 – Kasalan sa Tiringbanay
* April 28 – Tiringbanay Jobs Fair
* April 28 to May 1 – Pasundayag sa Tiripunan Trade Fair
* April 29 – Opening parade with street dancing and floats, Pag-abi-abi sa Pagtiringub (opening program), 10th Tiringbanay Motocross, and Lin-ay kang San Jose de Buenavista 2023
* April 30 – CosmoPAWlitan Dog Show, 10th Tiringbanay Motocross Automoto Show, St. Joseph Vespera Mass and Procession, and Tiringbanay Musicfest
* May 1 – High Mass-Feast of St. Joseph, Automoto Show, Tricycle Sounds Competition, Sadsad Sinadya, Kirita-ay sa Tiringbanay, and Fireworks Display. (With a report from PIA-Antique)/PN
