ILOILO – Raymond Arca denied that he was selling shabu. He believed the substance seized from him was “planted.”

The 22-year-old construction worker was baffled when police arrested him during a buy-bust operation last Thursday.

A resident of Santa Barbara town, Arca now faces charges for drug selling and possession – violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 – a police report showed.

Arca claimed he just bought a bottle of whisky when the Santa Barbara police arrested him at around 9:20 p.m. in Barangay Talanghauan where he also lives.

Nagpatakas ko. Nagbakal ko Tanduay. Natingala man ko ngaa gindakop ako nila. Namangkot sila ka ngalan ko kag ginpasaka sa awto nga itom,” Arca told Panay News.

The municipal police said Arca sold a sachet of suspected shabu to undercover officers for P500.

Three more plastic packs of the same substance contained in a black leather pouch were seized from him, police said.

Arca admitted he used drugs before but has turned himself in to the police as part of the tougher crackdown on drug users and peddlers.

Gagamit ko pero dugay ron kag naka-surrender ako diri sa police station pag-Tokhang,” he told Panay News.

Arca denied knowing where the suspected shabu were from.

Wala ko kamaan kung diin dya naghalin. Gin-planted man lang na nila sa akon,” Arca said.

Arca was hauled to the custodial facility of the Santa Barbara police station./PN
