Santa Clarita wins SBP U-18 3X3 regionals

SANTA Clarita International High School Primes ruled the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) U-18 3X3 Regional Finals at the Hua Siong College of Iloilo Ledesco Campus Gym in Jaro, Iloilo City.

Led by Ralph Bajon, Kenth Lindero, Wilmer Dalumpines, and Giann Paul Nahine, Primes captured the title after beating CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights’ Ian Gasacao, Wilmar Silverio, Patrick Gain, and Sean Tigres 18-14 on April 15.

Primes will represent Western Visayas in the SBP U-18 3X3 National Finals from May 18 to 21 in Manila.

“I am glad that we were able to pull this one off,” said Primes head coach Rodel Camacho. “Imagine, we played six games in one day – tatlo sa eliminations, then quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.”

On their way to the championship round, Primes ousted Pototan Integros 14-9 while Silver Knights escaped with a slim 16-13 win over Tigbauan A.

In the quarterfinals, Primes beat University of San Agustin 10-8, Tigbauan A routed John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University 14-5, Pototan dominated Alimodian 21-13, and Silver Knights A defeated Silver Knights B, 15-14.

Other participating teams were Pavia, Cabatuan, Guimaras A and B, Bacolod Tay Tung High School A and B, Hua Siong A and B, Tigbauan B, Ateneo de Iloilo, and Primes B./PN
