MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio posted a slight increase in her public satisfaction rating despite facing impeachment proceedings at the House of Representatives, according to the latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Results of the nationwide survey conducted from March 24 to 31 showed Duterte-Carpio’s net satisfaction rating improved to +29, up by one point from +28 in November 2025, maintaining a “moderate” classification even as political controversies surrounding her continue to dominate national discussions.
The poll found that 54 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with the Vice President’s performance, while 25 percent were dissatisfied and 21 percent remained undecided.
According to SWS, the slight increase was largely driven by stronger ratings in Mindanao and Metro Manila, although gains were tempered by declines in the Visayas and Balance Luzon.
Duterte-Carpio continued to enjoy overwhelming support in Mindanao, registering an excellent net satisfaction rating of +82. In the Visayas, she received a good rating of +36, while her ratings in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon were both at a neutral +5.
The survey also showed marginal improvements across geographic classifications. Her net satisfaction rating in rural areas rose from +35 to +36, while in urban areas it increased from +21 to +23.
However, the Vice President experienced notable declines among younger and more educated respondents.
SWS reported that Duterte-Carpio’s net satisfaction rating among respondents aged 18 to 24 dropped by 16 points, from +49 to +33. Among college graduates, her rating fell by 21 points, sliding from +18 to -3.
The same survey measured public satisfaction with other top government officials.
Former Senate President Vicente Sotto III registered a net satisfaction rating of +15, down by one point from November 2025 but still classified as moderate.
House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III posted a neutral rating of +4, slightly lower than his previous +5.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo maintained a neutral net satisfaction rating of +9, unchanged from the previous survey period.
The survey also noted that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recorded a net satisfaction rating of -15, the lowest rating of his presidency so far.
The non-commissioned survey interviewed 1,500 adults nationwide through face-to-face interviews, including 600 respondents from Balance Luzon and 300 each from Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao. SWS said the survey carries a ±3 percent margin of error for national results./PN
