MANILA – Senators are looking forward to the New Year with optimism.
Sen. Nancy Binay was hopeful that 2017 could be a good year for the Philippines.
“I also pray that the Almighty continue to bless us with peace in our hearts so that we can understand, respect and forgive one another, regardless of race, color, and ideology so that we can forge a stronger and more united Philippines,” said Binay.
Meanwhile, Sen. Leila de Lima urged Filipinos to be more compassionate in the new year. She also called to respect human rights.
Gaya ng kasabihan, ‘Bagong Taon, Bagong Buhay’,” the former Justice secretary said.
Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, for his part, said New Year’s Day symbolizes the end of the past year and the tart of new beginnings.
Meanwhile, Sen. Grace Poe said she prays that 2017 will be a “bright” year for the country as the Filipinos continue to aspire to live better lives./PN
