ILOILO — From finding jobs and accessing government assistance to health screening and veterinary services, Ilonggos will get a month-long lineup of programs in September as the Iloilo Provincial Government rolls out an extensive public service campaign for the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
The month-long observance will combine activities for government employees with programs reaching the wider public, including job fairs, animal health services, HIV awareness, diabetes screening and wellness activities, and a one-stop help desk involving key government agencies.
The celebration, carrying the theme “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,” officially opens on Sept. 1 with a grand parade and program at the Iloilo Sports Complex involving employees of the provincial government.
Among the activities with direct public-service components is the provincewide neutering and spaying program of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian from Sept. 1 to 8.
Two employment activities are scheduled for Sept. 8 — the Fiesta Job Fair in Guimbal and the “Lingkod Bayani on the Go: Government Express 2026 CSC Job Fair” at SM City Iloilo.
The provincial government will also hold pet consultations, deworming, vaccinations and vitamin supplementation from Sept. 14 to 18.
Health and social awareness programs will form another major part of the celebration.
An HIV awareness activity will be held on Sept. 14 at Casa Real de Iloilo, followed by a lecture on the Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) and Safe Spaces Act at the Capitol lobby on Sept. 15.
The “Healthy Lingkod Barangay Kapitolyo: Diabetes Screening & Wellness Campaign” will run from Sept. 15 to 16, while a Drug Free/Smoke Free Capitol advocacy activity is scheduled on Sept. 18 at the Capitol lobby.
Government employees, meanwhile, will undergo Basic Entrepreneurship Training on Sept. 9 at the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Conference Room.
The CSC Lingkod Bayani Run 2026 will be staged on Sept. 13 at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Grounds.
The IPG Sportsfest will run from Sept. 1 to 24, while “Pyesta sa Kakahuyan” is scheduled during the third week of September, with the venue yet to be announced.
The IPG Employees’ Night will be held on Sept. 25 at the Iloilo Convention Center, while the Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees will conduct a Public Sector Forum during the fourth week of the month.
IPG executives will hold a seminar on Sept. 26 and 27, followed by the awarding ceremony for overall winners on Sept. 28.
A garage sale will be held at the Capitol Grounds from Sept. 28 to 30.
On Sept. 29, a Government Agencies Services Help Desk featuring agencies such as the Government Service Insurance System, Philippine Health Insurance Corp. and Pag-IBIG Fund will be established at the Capitol lobby.
The month-long observance will culminate on Sept. 30 with the CSC Pasidungog./PN
