‘Shabu’ worth P36T seized

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth some P36,000 was recovered from a man at the public plaza of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

San Carlos City police head Superintendent D’ Artagnan Katalbas Jr. identified the man as the 38-year-old Jerome Macailo of Barangay 4, San Carlos City.

Macailo was caught around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, a police report showed.

Recovered from his possession were three sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 3 grams and drug paraphernalia, police said.

A team led by Senior Inspector Mark Angelo Jungco staged the sting operation.

The police also impounded a Yamaha Mio motorcycle that they said Macailo used in transporting illegal drugs.

Macailo was detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
