MANILA – Adamson University Lady Falcons ruled the 2025 Shakey’s Super League (SSL) National Invitationals Cebu Leg after a 25-15, 26-24, 25-14 sweep over the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles at the Mandaue Sports Complex in Cebu.
Shaina Nitura delivered a game-high 23 points built on 15 attacks, four blocks, and four service aces, earning her the Best Player award of the Cebu Leg for the Lady Falcons.
The Alas Pilipinas national women’s volleyball team mainstay sealed the Lady Falcons’ first SSL championship with back-to-back service aces, avenging their runner-up finish in 2023.
Frances Mordi chipped in 12 points while Lhouriz Tuddao added seven markers for the Lady Falcons, which swept all three of its matches in the three-day tournament.
“I thank God for the performance of my players. I thank God for this tournament na three straight wins nakuha namin,” said Lady Falcons head coach JP Yude in a post-game interview.
“I’m very proud sa mga bata. And really happy na nakikita ko sila na unti-unti na may progress,” added the Negrense volleyball mentor.
Zey Pacia finished with 15 points as the Blue Eagles settled for third place with a 1-2 record.
Meanwhile, home team and reigning CESAFI champion University of San Carlos claimed second place after defeating the University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.
Fueled by school pride, the Lady Warriors rebounded from a shaky start to stamp their class over archrival Lady Panthers in a thrilling rematch of the CESAFI Season 24 championship.
