SHUVEE Etrata has apologized to fans of the DonBelle love team after drawing criticism for her reaction upon seeing Donny Pangilinan at a recent birthday party. The actor is in an on-screen partnership with Belle Mariano.
During the recent media conference for her upcoming horror film “Huwag Kang Titingin,” Etrata addressed the backlash over a video showing her visibly giddy upon meeting Pangilinan at the birthday celebration of Bernard Cloma.
“Sa lahat na po ng DonBelle fans, gusto ko pong mag-sorry if I reacted that way. I’m so sorry if I’m always fangirling over Donny. I will do my best para mapigilan po yung nararamdaman natin next time,” she said.
The former “PBB” housemate clarified that her feelings are purely that of a fan, saying, “He’s really just a crush. Wala pong chance na magka-level po kami ni Donny. Kasi po si Donny po ay isa na pong kumikinang na bituin. Ako po ay pausbong pa lang.”
When asked if she is open to working with Pangilinan in the future, Etrata said she is willing, although network differences may pose a challenge.
After Etrata’s interview, Pangilinan took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, March 28, to appeal to stop the spread of online hate, as he emphasized that the actress and he are friends.
“I’ve been seeing a lot online. I don’t usually speak up, but I think it’s about time we stop spreading hate and constantly comparing people. There are far more important things happening in our country,” he began his post.
“I told Shuvee the videos were going around out of shock, as I went to dinner at first thinking it was just going to be intimate and private. People forget we are all friends in this industry. Why do we keep pitting people against each other?” continued the actor.
Pangilinan also requested that Mariano be removed from the negative narratives. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
