ILOILO – Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) “Palibosfer” may not be able to wait for the documents they need from the families of the victims of the shooting incident in Barangay Villa Pani-an, Estancia town.

According to the public information officer of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and SITG spokesperson, Police Senior Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero Jr., it will take time for them to proceed to the next level of investigation if the families of the victims do not cooperate.

The families of three slain young businessmen – Jan Paul Mark Bosque, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes and Mark Clarenz Libao – submitted statements to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Region 6, but not to the SITG.

“The SITG, I think, can no longer wait sa sining mga dokumento if these families refuse to cooperate sa mga buluhaton nga para man sa ila tani ang ining hustisya nga ginapangayo,” Lindero said.

The SITG also finds it difficult to secure copies of the affidavits from NBI-6; clearance from the NBI central office is needed.

Lindero, however, said the SITG will continue working to gather information that can help solve the crime.

For its part, NBI-6 already established a motive in the killing of the victims. According to NBI-6 assistant regional director Atty. Jeremiah Sargado, they have evidence to support it, however, he is not yet sure when a complaint would be filed.

Jevron Parohinog, the lone survivor in the Estancia killings, told the police he and the three fatalities were onboard a white Isuzu MUX when attacked by motorcycle-riding gunmen around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 14 in Pani-an, Estancia.

Bosque owned the vehicle but Parohinog was driving it.

Parohinog, who is still in the custody of the Estancia police station, is considered at this time as both a witness and a person of interest./PN
