ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Magsaysay, City Proper who repeatedly stabbed his father following an argument turned himself in to the police.

Edlin Tan surrendered around 10:30 a.m. on May 17 — four days after the incident at the Iloilo Central Market in Barangay Nonoy.

Using a 15-inch knife, the 36-year-old Tan attacked his father Eduardo, 65, at the height of their altercation around 5:30 p.m. on May 13.

Tan’s live-in partner Janice Terre Noblez witnessed the incident, police said.

Eduardo sustained stab wounds on the different parts of the body. He was taken to the St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo.

Tan fled after the incident. Police launched a hot pursuit but terminated it when the suspect — accompanied by sister Edna — surrendered to Police Station 1.

Tan and his sister were egg dealers.

The suspect was detained at the Police Station 1 custodial facility./PN
