BACOLOD City – Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) have granted Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez the authority to sign the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with four funeral homes to implement the burial assistance program of this city.
The funeral parlors were Abe Funeral Homes Inc., Funeraria Del Lourdes Inc., Chapel of the Chimes Gegato Abecia Funeral Homes Inc., and Purple Haven Funeral Homes.
Benitez said the city is still accepting other funeral parlors willing to be part of the program.
Under the burial assistance, the city has allotted P10,000 worth of services for every indigent resident.
Prior, the said assistance was availed of through a monetary claim of P7,000.
The program’s burial package would include cadaver retrieval from a hospital, home, or crime scene within the city, seven-day embalming, casketing, and transportation of the deceased to the preferred interment location.
