Sta. Clarita Iloilo tops SBP 3×3 regional finals

ILOILO City – Santa Clarita International School Primes ruled the boys category of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) 3×3 U-18 basketball national regional finals at the Ateneo de Iloilo Gym.

Led by Kimrey Servano, Rogelle Alvaladejo, Mon Alfred Pedrajas, and Michael Jose Jayme, the Primes defeated Hua Siong-Dragon team of Jessie Beker, Christian Palilei, Jims Jimiera, and Zion Sigua in the finals, 15-14.

“We are fortunate to come out as the winner on Sunday. Medyo nakakapagod kasi it’ wa a one-day tournament at sunod-sunod ‘yung games,” said Primes head coach Rodel Camacho. “We will do our best to represent the region well sa nationals.”

Bacolod City National High School, on the other hand, emerged as the winner in the distaff side. It defeated the Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion of Roxas City in overtime, 14-12.

The Bacolodnon team were led by Kaye Pesquera, Shalimar Dublar, Hallyza Quiatchon, and Charity Grace Gicana.

For being the boys and girls category champions, Primes and Bacolod City National High are to represent the Western Visayas in the SBP U-18 3X3 Basketball National Finals from Oct. 28 to 30 at the Robinson’s Place in Ermita, Manila./PN
