Still no definite date for oath-taking of President’s new party-mates in WV

ILOILO – The mass oath-taking for new members of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) in Western Visayas has no definite date yet.

The oath-takers will come from Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., the regional head of PFP, also said key party officers, including President Marcos’ son, Cong. Sandro Marcos of Ilocos Norte’s first district, and Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., the Special Assistant to the President, remain unavailable to administer the oath-taking.

The event was initially planned for April 10 in Iloilo City but was cancelled. It was reported that Cong. Marcos was abroad.

Defensor said there is no urgency to conduct the ceremony.

At least 20 incumbent mayors are confirmed to participate in the oath-taking, along with other officials from Guimaras and Negros Occidental, including prospective members like Raisa Treñas-Chu, daughter of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, who has announced her candidacy for Congress.

The PFP remains open to including other incumbent elected officials from the region who wish to align with the administration./PN
