ILOILO City – A four-year-old boy landed in a hospital after getting hit by a stray bullet in Baragay Del Castillo, Sara, Iloilo.
The victim, whose name was withheld by authorities, sustained a gunshot wound on the left foot. He received medical treatment at the Sara district hospital.
The suspect was identified as Noel Habagat, also resident of the said village, a police report showed.
According to the police, the suspect attempted to shoot a dog but instead hit the victim who was playing with his elder brother outside their house around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 1.
Habagat admitted that he tried to fire at the dog that allegedly killed his chicken.
He turned himself in to the Sara Police Station and vowed to pay the victim’s hospital bill./PN
