BACOLOD City – Police were still investigating the mysterious death of a 19-year-old student whose body was found early Sunday morning, August 10, at a sugarcane field in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Clyde Abaa, second year aeronautics student, and a resident of Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, sustained injuries to his leg and head, as well as a broken arm.
He was positively identified by his uncle, Rodolfo Lasquete.
According to Police Captain Honey Labaro, chief of the Murcia Municipal Police Station, a concerned citizen discovered Abaa’s body past 5 a.m. At the scene, police recovered a helmet, a broken plate, and motorcycle debris, leading to suspicions of a possible traffic accident.
However, the motorcycle reportedly used by Abaa has not been recovered, leaving investigators to consider other possible scenarios.
Lasquete told the police that on Saturday night, August 9, Abaa traveled with his cousin to Murcia on a motorcycle. Upon arrival, he borrowed the vehicle to meet a friend but never returned.
As of this writing, authorities were still determining the exact cause of death and locating the missing motorcycle. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
