‘Sulpak’ puts Murcia local behind bars

BACOLOD City – He was carrying a gun that was why he got arrested.

The 33-year-old Loreto Rebuca Jr. of Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental was detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station.

It was Minoyan village chief Eric Espinosa who arrested Rebuca after he saw the latter carrying an improvised shotgun locally known as sulpak around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

The gun was loaded with a live bullet of a 12-gauge shotgun, police said.

It was now under the custody of the Murcia police.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were filed against Rebuca./PN
