Task Force ‘Baklas’ removes oversized posters in Antique

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Task Force “Baklas” took down “oversized” poll posters of national and local candidates in the province on Friday.

“The removal of oversized posters is synchronized throughout the province,” said Commission on Elections (Comelec) provincial director Wil Arceño.

He said the task force is composed of representatives of the Comelec, Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Antique Provincial Police Office.

The team vowed to ensure all candidates in local and national level will comply with the prescribed poster size, Arceño said.

The task force began tearing down oversized posters and those placed in areas not identified as common poster areas.

Arceño noted they have already removed 20 oversized posters from local poll parties.

“We will do everything to clean up,” he stressed.

Arceño said Antique remains peaceful with the start of the campaign period for the local poll on Friday and he expects an orderly May 13 elections in the province. (With a report from PNA/PN)
