Ilonggos now need not book a pricy trip to India to experience the best food the country has to offer, with the Flags Taste of India (FTI) Resto Bar offering an extensive menu of authentic Indian cuisine right here in Iloilo City.

Feast on delectable Chicken Biryani – FTI’s best seller – a mixed rice dish of vegetables and peppers topped with scrumptious chicken cutlets. Pair your Chicken Biryani with some Chana masala, savory Indian chick peas. Wash your hearty meal down with FTI’s signature Mango Lassi – a blend of yogurt and fresh mango fruit – before capping your meal with the restaurant’s enticing deserts: Milk Barfi, milk bars made from fresh milk, and the ever popular Ladoo, round sweets traditional prepared for Indian festivals and special events… and much much more.

Founded by Indian national Surinder Kumar, who has been living in the Philippines for three decades now, the authenticity of Flags Taste of India’s flavors is proven by how much the restaurant is loved and patronized by the Indian community of Iloilo, especially since it is located beside the Indian Sikh Temple.

FTI’s manager Jonelyn Galan shares that they are especially flocked for their desserts – always made fresh and made from scratch by their Indian cook – which can be both bought in bulk and by piece. They are very popular for their Ladoo, Milk Barfi, and Besan Barfi – all made with authentic Indian ingredients.

Besan Barfi

The first of its kind to offer authentic Indian food in Iloilo, among the other dishes on FTI’s menu are: mouth-watering Samosas, Papad, Butter Naan, Chapati, Punjabi Curry, Mutton Masala, Paneers, and so much more.

Flags Taste of India is also set to have its own store of Indian products – most of which are hard to come by here in Iloilo – shipped exclusively from India. FTI is selling spices such as Coriander powder and Chili powder, lentils, rice and other Indian products.

Open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Flags Taste of India is located beside the Indian Sikh Temple in Mandurriao district – R. Mapa Street, Tabucan, Old Iloilo Airport, Mandurriao.
