THE Department of Finance said Monday it pushed back the deadlines for filing and payment of taxes. The deadline for filing of annual income tax returns was pushed back to May 30 from the earlier May 15 extension while the deadline for tax amnesty on delinquencies was moved to June 8 from April 23, the DOF said in a statement.
“This gives taxpayers ample time to settle their tax delinquencies while allowing the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to increase its collection from the tax amnesty program,” the DOF said.
Other deadlines for filing of position papers and other suspensions were given grace periods, the DOF said.
Several banks, lenders and utility distributors have also extended grace periods for loans and bills payments for the period covered by the enhanced community quarantine.(ABS-CBN News)
