Tay Tung lets Thunderbolts guard Alarcon go

Harold Alarcon no longer wants to play for Bacolod Tay Tung High School, says the school’s vice president for sports, Jose Montalbo.

HAROLD Alarcon may now move to the National University Bullpups.

Bacolod Tay Tung High School was finally letting go of the Thunderbolts guard after speaking with NU officials.

“We have already released the documents Harold (Alarcon) needed for his transfer to NU. We have reached an agreement with NU officials,” Tay Tung’s vice president for sports Jose Montalbo told Panay News.

Montalbo refused to reveal the details of the agreement but said Alarcon, a native of Silay City, Negros Occidental, no longer wants to be with the Thunderbolts.

“It is hard to keep a player who does not want to play for your team,” he added. “We just wish him well and are thankful for the three years that he has played for Tay Tung.”

Alarcon has received numerous citations in his three years of carrying the Thunderbolts banner. Recently he got an invite to join the Batang Gilas squad tryout.

Earlier this year the 6-foot-1 guard had triple-double – 51 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists – in a National Basketball Training Center match.

Alarcon was glad Tay Tung finally let him go.

“I just want to thank Bacolod Tay Tung for finally granting my release. I am thankful for their help in my career,” Alarcon said. “Now I can shift my focus to National University.”/PN
