BACOLOD City – Police arrested an 18-year-old female drug suspect in possession of around P680,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at 2:18 a.m. yesterday in the city’s Barangay 2.
Alias “Joyce”, a resident of the aforementioned place, yielded nine plastic sachets and one knot tied sachet, all containing suspected shabu, according to the Bacolod City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit (BCPO-DEU).
Police added that the suspect, tagged as a high-value target, had been under surveillance for several weeks before the operation.
The suspect is now under police custody and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky lauded the operatives of the BCPO-DEU for the successful operation.
“May this accomplishment send a strong message to those remaining involved in drug activity that we are serious in this fight. Further, this will be intensified as we forge stronger partnership with the other law enforcement agencies and the community,” he said./PN
